I took all of these while back home for vacation in early October 2022. I was downtown taking photos for some collage ideas I have, but Chicago is such a beautiful city I made sure to shoot regular photos as well.
A buddy of mine told me about this place on Ingwangsan 인왕산 recently. If you start on the trail across the street from Hongjimun Gate 홍지문. I’ve been up Ingwangsan quite a few times but never up this path before. I didn’t see anyone on the trail until I got to the top of the mountain, and even then I only saw a couple of people. It’s the end of July and really hot so not many people are out hiking, but this path seem to not be use too much. It is a lot more over grown than other trail on Ingwangsan. If you follow that path that goes to the top of the mountain you will eventually come across this bunker. I don’t think many people go in their either since the door in was pretty overgrown as well. It’s considerably bigger than most of the bunkers and pill boxes I sent on Bukhansan and Dobongsan. I’m pretty curious why one this large was in this location. I’ll be posting up a video of this place on my Youtube channel Seoul City Outdoors as well.
On a clear night we hiked up Ahn Mountain - 안산. Ahn is in the north west side of the city and from up there you can see most of Seoul. On a clear night you can see Lotta Tower in Jamsil on the other side of Seoul.
I took these shots on Eungbongsan - 응봉산. It’s a hill next to the river not far from Seoul Forest - 서울숲. You can get there pretty quick from Oksu Station - 옥수역.
These photos were taken on Muuido (무의도) near Incheon. They were taken on the shore near the cliffs and out in the low tide.
These shots were taken at Nyhavn and the Kastellet Star Fortress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In 2018 I visited the UK. I wanted to check out the ruins of an old abbey and found Waverley Abbey wasn't too far outside of London. It was the one day when I hadn’t had plans to meet any friends so I decided to check it out. It also happened to be raining all day. According to google there was a bus that went from the station to the abbey, but it only went every hour or so. It said it was also only a 2 mile walk so I decided to go on foot. What Google didn’t say is that there isn’t really a safe way to get there on foot. Ended up on the narrow shoulder of a wet country road trying to avoid cars. It was a week day and the weather was awful so I had the place all to my self. It was worth the wet muddy trek. Waverley Abbey was founded in 1128. It was dissolved during the Henry the 8th’s Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536.
This is the first set in a series of photos I plan to take of the Hanyangdoseong 한양도성 or Seoul City Wall. This set was taken on the section of wall between Hansung Uni Station 한성대입구역 and Naksan Park 낙산공원.
